Thailand Yacht Show 2016

A pioneering event to be held at the Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket is set to attract thousands of visitors from the region and beyond with an international showcase of some of the world’s most luxurious superyachts ever made.

The Thailand Yacht Show is the country’s first international charter yacht event, which is organized by the very same people behind the successful Singapore Yacht Show with the cooperation of the government of Thailand. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and the Ministry of Transport, and the Marine Department have all joined forces to mark their ongoing support for the ever growing superyacht industry in the Asia Pacific region.

The day before the show’s culmination, the Thailand Yacht Forum will take place at the Phuket Yacht Haven. Industry professionals can attend the forum, which will consist of presentations on the region’s cruising grounds and growing infrastructure, as well as insights on the regulation changes in Thailand.

The Ao Po Grand Marina serves as the perfect location for the international event, since it has deep water access and a full breakwater, allowing mega yachts up to 100 meters to dock in its port. The Marina is also an ideal setting for luxury cruises as it has direct access to Phang Nga Bay and the beautiful nearby islands of Phuket’s eastern coast.

Yachting in Phuket has always been a popular activity for the elite and with yachting events regularly held on the island. But the main goal of this event is to combine the best features of the local boating industry, yacht charters, luxury lifestyles, and to highlight the world’s best and biggest yachts. Designed to attract industry players and consumers, the Thailand Yacht Show is expected to bring in the same prestige of the Singapore Yacht Show, making it a first-class platform for regional guests to come face to face with yachting professionals, charter yachting companies, and boat owners.

The scheduled activities are as follows: February 8 to 10 will consist of the sailing Regatta, watersports demonstrations, and industry seminars; while February 11 to 14 will consist of the main yacht show, showcasing over 40 yachts from the local and international sectors.

Among the yachts to showcase at the event include the 41-meter Ocean Emerald designed by Sir Norman Foster, yachts by the Lee Marine International Marine Brokerage, and yachts that range from 32 to 73 meters from the Burgess Yachts, one of the most renowned charter and brokerage companies in the world.
