Anticipation Mounts for the Inaugural Thailand International Boat Show in January

Thousands of boating enthusiasts and potential buyers from all over the world are expected to attend The Thailand International Boat Show that will take place from 6 to 9 January 2022 in Phuket, one of the top yachting destinations in Asia.

The event will be the first international event of its kind since Phuket reopened to international visitors earlier this year and the island’s first boat show in the last two years. Hosted by the Royal Phuket Marina, it will also be the only boat show to be staged at any major marina in Thailand for the year of 2022.

Targeting those with an interest in boating and luxury lifestyle, the organizers will welcome over 6,000 estimated visitors to see and engage with more than 100 exhibitors.

This much-anticipated boating event is organised by JAND Events, a trading division of JAND Group. Their team is also working closely with the local and central government including the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thailand (MOTST), Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

Both the organizers and the Thai government have aligned on the national agenda to reopen the country to international visitors as well as to focus on supporting the yacht tourism initiative and the country’s world-class marine tourism.

What To Expect From The Boat Show

The four-day International Boat Show will feature new exhibitor pavilions and visitor activities. With more than 50 boats on display, visitors will get to see production yachts, power boats, sailing boats, and yachts of all sizes – from dinghies to superyachts.

Gearing up to be the largest boat exhibition ever held in Phuket, visitors will be seeing a wide array of boats for sale and charter at the show. This includes many of the most distinguishable marine brands like Fontaine Pajot, Stealth Catamarans, Ocean Voyager, Majesty Yachts, Corsair Marine, and Integrated Marine Service, among many others.

Aside from this, the Boat Show will also be promoting local charter operators. Visitors will also be able to catch a new innovative marine market where all types of nautical products will be on sale at reasonable prices.

The Royal Phuket Marina

Located on Phuket’s east coast, Royal Phuket Marina stands as a world-class destination with its state-of-the-art marina and commercial space. It is the island’s only marina to be awarded the prestigious 5 Gold Anchor distinction. The Gold Anchor accreditation is similar to the star rating system for consumers selecting guest accommodation. Any marina displaying the Gold Anchor accreditation has guaranteed impeccable facilities and has satisfied comprehensive external assessments of operations and customer service.

RPM is also the first and only venue of its type in Thailand to receive an SHA Plus+ certification for its marina, restaurant, and exhibition hall. This means that more than 70 percent of its staff has been fully vaccinated and that no unvaccinated staffers are allowed to have close contact with guests. To further assure guests of their safety, RPM also requires each staff member to be prepped with COVID-19 emergency solutions at all times.

The marina also offers an extraordinary range of event and exhibition venues. The exhibition hall is Phuket’s largest, with about 2,000 sqm of internal space and over 1,000 sqm of usable outdoor venue space. On top of these, The Royal Phuket Marina  is also a pioneer in sustainability, deploying the latest in solar technology to power its operations.

The Exhibitors

Guests can expect a total of 7,651 sqm of land and on-water exhibition space. This space will accommodate 100+ exhibitors coming from all over Asia.

These exhibitors and brands include jewellery, marine, chandlery services, and fashion, each carefully selected by the organizers of the show to perfectly cater to the 6,000 guests.

Other expected exhibitors cater to visitors who are into art, antiques, collectables, lifestyle, media, and other luxury products and services.

Other Activities & Attractions

This event not only showcases the best features of the local boating industry and highlights the world’s best and biggest yachts, but also seeks to establish the community of industry players and consumers across the region.

To build more opportunities for networking among the guests, activities as well as interactive displays have been set up. These include sailing workshops, marine conservation workshops, seafaring activities, displays on yacht charters and marine suppliers, and displays featuring luxury cars and properties.

Guests can also expect fine and casual dining areas during the event. Zones dedicated for kids are also available for the convenience of many parents. Live music, panel discussions, and craftsmanship demonstrations have also been arranged throughout the four-day show.
