Embracing Luxury Island Life at Ritz-Carlton Maldives Fari Islands

On June 1st, the first Ritz-Carlton property opened in the Maldives, offering the ultimate luxury vacation in the tropics. The resort offers access to beautiful beachfront villas overlooking white sand beaches and crystal blue lagoons.

Designed by Kerry Hill, a renowned Australian architect, guests of the resort can feel one with nature during their stay at one of the gorgeous villas. The exteriors, with their spherical forms, were known to be inspired by the ocean’s mesmerizing swirling breeze and the cyclical nature of island life.

The Villas

The villas have uninterrupted ocean views, lagoon and sunset panorama, and spacious lounge areas for connecting with nature as well as with loved ones.

Villas also have an integrated infinity pool and sundeck, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a modern and minimalist design.

The resort’s top-notch facilities include a photography studio, a kids’ club, and tennis courts. The resort is also built to minimize the impact on the reef ecosystem through the use of solar panels, sustainable construction techniques, and materials that are pre-fabricated.

Aside from the striking architecture, guests will also relish being pampered by their own personal butler, a dedicated Aris Meeha, who can help tailor a perfect tropical experience for them. The Aris Meeha will be there to manage and organize different activities within the resort as guests sit back, relax, and enjoy their vacation.

With the assistance of their Aris Meeha, guests can immerse themselves into Maldivian stories, learn to cook Maldivian cuisine, and spend the late afternoon watching the magnificent sunset.

There are also opportunities for guests to learn about coral preservation as they explore the breathtaking beaches.

Dining Options

The resort has four sections, but the gastronomic possibilities extend beyond. Each section is its own culinary island, home to seven restaurants. These restaurants range from a Michelin-starred Singapore eatery to a Southern Italian espresso bar with curated options.

Summer Pavilion is a modern Chinese cuisine restaurant offering small plates and featuring a gorgeous wine cellar. La Locanda has an intoxicating espresso bar where guests can enjoy the espresso bar, with the aroma of freshly made coffee.

The other cuisines include Japanese, Lebanese, and the Mediterranean.

Guests can also enjoy a version of an afternoon while watching the sunset or enjoy the extensive selection of rosé at the Beach Shack bar while listening to DJ-spun music.

Wellness & Spa Amenities

The luxury resort vacation is not complete without deep-tissue massages and a rejuvenating full-body spa experience. The Ritz-Carlton Spa, floating over the lagoon, is a literal sanctuary for anyone who needs wellness sessions.

The Spa features nine treatment rooms including a spa suite with its own lounge, a salon, and a boutique. Guests can pick the signature massage with an island-inspired treatment that incorporates local ingredients like organic coconuts, native herbs, and heated sand on a full-body massage.

Another popular option is their bamboo massage which uses heated bamboo sticks to knead the muscles, stimulate blood circulation, and induce the ultimate relaxation.

Purposeful Activities

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives invites their guests to engaging beach activities like beach cricket matches, cinema under the stars, and traditional drum performances timed to sunset.

Below the water’s surface, guests can learn about coral preservation, do some snorkeling, and visit an underwater world home to a few dolphins. Some of these experiences are led by experts from Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment program, with which Ritz-Carlton has had a longtime partnership.

Young guests also have a place in the resort to cultivate their curious minds. Designed for those ages 4 to 12, the program provides a schedule of daily activities including sports, arts, and crafts. This experience is based out of the Ritz Kids Club, which also features a futuristic indoor-outdoor space with playgrounds, an area for video games and movies, napping pods, and a pool with slides and jets.

Anyone looking for a much-needed vacation with elevated offerings, personalized services, and a meaningful experience with access to gorgeous natural surroundings can find it right here at Ritz-Carlton Maldives Fari Islands.
